The Infiniti G35 is an entry-level luxury/mid-size car produced by Nissan's Infiniti division. In Japan, this car is known as the Nissan Skyline 350GT and is available in both sedan and coupe forms. The first generation G35 (V35) was introduced to North America for the 2003 model year, as a replacement for the Infiniti G20. The Infiniti G35 sedan is among the sportiest of the so-called near-luxury cars. It's a true sports sedan, which includes a powerful V6 engine, rear-wheel drive, and a sports suspension.

The G35 is based on the Nissan FM platform shared with the Nissan 350Z sports car and Infiniti FX crossover SUV. In 2003, the G35 was voted “Car of the Year” by Motor Trend's and has been well-received by both the media and customers as a great alternative to a more expensive luxury car. The G35 was also nominated for the North American Car of the Year award, and was on Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best List for 2003 and 2004.

The Infiniti G35 uses a front engine, rear-wheel drive layout (all-wheel drive is available for the G35x sedan) to achieve a 52% front/ 48% rear weight distribution. Both of these body styles are available with either a 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission, howevery, the automatic is the only transmission available for the AWD sedan. When the driver pushes the throttle to accelerate from a stop or a rolling speed, the AWD system can send up to 50% of torque to the front wheels. When the car's speed becomes steady again, the drive-train will resume to RWD mode. The AWD system will also transfer torque to the front wheels, if the system detects loss of traction.

The Infiniti G35 is available as a two-door coupe or a four-door sedan. The coupe comes in one trim level. The sedan is available in five trim levels: base, Journey, x (AWD), Sport and Sport 6MT. Since its redesign in 2007, the G35 now represents the car's second generation. Both body styles are equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine. In the G35 sedan, the V6 creates 306 horsepower. The coupe, equipped with the standard five-speed automatic transmission, is rated for 275 horsepower. If equipped with the optional six-speed manual, the G35 coupe provides 293 horsepower. All sedan trims are equipped with a five-speed automatic, with the exception of the Sport 6MT, which comes with a six-speed manual.
